Like many Southern Baptists, I have been praying for months for the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Search Team as they have sought to find God’s man to be the next President. I had heard that Dr. David Platt was a prime candidate for the position, but I have been a Baptist long enough to know that though he may have been the frontrunner, you never know what will happen in Baptist life.
I am excited about David Platt as our new IMB President! I think he brings tremendous passion for Christ and love for the lost that will inspire and mobilize Southern Baptists to increase our number of missionaries around the world to impact lostness in a much greater way.
