I am a product of a Southern Baptist church and seminary. As a Southern Baptist minister for over 30 years, I am very invested in the Southern Baptist Convention - its health, effectiveness, and future. I also partner with Southern Baptist and Georgia Baptist leaders on a regular basis to do ministry together and to serve and strengthen our pastors and churches.

Below are some ways to counteract that trend when it comes to commitment to church. Thom Rainer, President of LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention, has some helpful insights concerning New Member Classes and other ways to help new members stick.
